This is a very large bag of dried mint. I use dried mint primarily for making tea. This mint works well for both hot and iced tea. The bag reseals easily, which is good because this bag will last a long time. Mint flavor is good, this particular mint I think would be best for adding depth to savory dishes rather than sweet desserts. Light earthy overtones in aroma are present, but upon tasting, the mint flavors shine through.
Bag was well sealed, only a faint aroma until I broke the seal. Then a wave of spearmint hit me strong.Mostly leaves, no twigs.I mix some into my tea to make a refreshing mint tea. Good stuff!
This is a fantastic spearmint tasting mint. I use it make tea. It’s very refreshing taste. The 7oz bag will last a very long time as a little goes a long way. I appreciate the fact it is non GMO. It is confusing on the description of the product that they list both peppermint and spearmint. To me, it’s definitely spearmint. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars it is almost powder-like in some aspects but for tea straining in a metal tea cup, the little particles seep through. It may be great if you are looking to dissolve in a dish but not so much for the tea. I don’t mind it, but that may be a turn off for some people. The sealable bag is nice to have.
I rated this 5 stars because I received a full 7 ounces of gorgeous, fresh, fragrant, flavorful dried mint that is particularly delicious in cooked dishes and sauces. I just wish it were clearer about what exactly the dried mint is. On the bag, it only lists "dried mint" while the online listing says both "spearmint" and "peppermint." From the smell of the bag and the taste of the herb, I'm confident that it is spearmint, but I could see some people being disappointed as the two types of mint are different. It's definitely a quality dried herb and I've enjoyed it as both hot and iced tea, sprinkled on salads, in chutney, in soup, and on fish. It adds really nice flavor. It's a great value for such a large amount of dried mint!
Bought this 7oz bag expecting bigger pieces, but they are crushed way smaller than I anticipated when I opened it up. The smell is incredibly fragrant right out of the package, though the tiny size definitely reduces how I use it.When I tried making a quick cup while working from home to the sound of my 8-year-old blasting K-pop, the little bits got stuck in my tea strainer and seeped right out into the mug. A paper sachet is required to keep the drink clean since a normal metal mesh won't catch everything. The bag itself is resealable and holds quite a bit of product, keeping the raw spearmint fresh.Might try mixing this into a sauce or a marinade since the loose tea situation is a little annoying without extra filters. I'll need to test it out with a few recipes, but there's plenty of mint in the bag to experiment with.
