Good Quality Seeds

I've been adding these seeds to my overnight oats for some extra nutrition and I must say I'm really happy with them. I do must say you need to be very careful with the used amount (no more than a teaspoon) since they can be a little bit bitter / strong tasting. However is a great addition for your meals since it has a lot of antioxidants and other nutritious values. I've been using it with oats but you can add it to rice or bread as well. The product came sealed very good and you can tell how these are really fresh. However you need to keep in mind that the package has warnings about being processed in a facility that is in contact with other products you may be allergic to. Overall I think they are great for the money and they do have a lot of health benefits. Definitely recommended.

Nice aromatic seeds for my sourdough bread

These nigella seeds were a pleasant surprise. I didn’t know much about them—just that I remembered eating bread in Europe with small black seeds. Since I make my own sourdough bread, I decided to give them a try. I sprinkled about 1/4 teaspoon into the dough during the last fold and let it rest in the fridge for 24 hours. I also added a few on top of the loaf before baking. What a great surprise! These seeds really changed the flavor of my bread, in a very positive way. They have a nice smoky, nutty flavor that adds something unique. The taste is fairly strong, so only a small amount is needed. The bag is quite generous (112 g) and well sealed to keep the seeds fresh. Overall, this is a good-quality, inexpensive product for many culinary experiences.

Toasty Little Seeds That Make My Fry-Ups Sing

I reach for these nigella seeds whenever I’m making potato fry or a batch of fried dough, and they never disappoint. The moment they hit hot oil, they bloom with that warm, onion-pepper aroma that makes the kitchen smell like something special is happening. I sprinkle a small pinch, let them crackle for a few seconds, then add the potatoes—suddenly a simple side turns nutty, savory, and a little mysterious. On fried dough, they bring a gentle bite and a toasty crunch that keeps each piece from tasting plain. The seeds are clean, whole, and fresh, so a little goes a long way; the 4-oz bag lasts ages in my spice drawer. I mostly use them in those two dishes, but every time I do, the flavor makes me smile. Simple, pure nigella—an easy upgrade that lifts everyday frying into something craveable.

Black Cumin: The Imposter Seed That Tastes Good

I had to look these up. I did not know what nigella seeds were until I got them. They call these “black cumin seeds,” but they are actually zero percent related to actual cumin. That seems like a confusing setup, but whatever. They get used a lot in Indian and Middle Eastern cooking, like adding texture to naan bread or stirring into hearty soups. The little seeds are roughly the size of sesame seeds. I tried some raw; they are crunchy, which is a nice texture addition. The flavor is slightly bitter and has a bit of spice, but it is not one specific flavor I can name, more like a mix. Since these have antioxidants, dropping a pinch into dinner seems like a smart, low-effort move. The best flavor profile emerges when they are lightly toasted before mixing them into a dough or topping. The container is small and resealable. I’ll be moving these to a shaker bottle soon, because trying to spoon tiny seeds out of a bag during a dinner rush is just asking for a kitchen disaster. I figure sprinkling these on some vegetable soup this week is the easy way to introduce a new layer of texture and flavor to the kids’ dinner, assuming they don’t ask why the black sprinkles are in the bowl.

Potent, great ground or as a seed

I've tried these for a while now in a variety of dishes, usually just a teaspoon or so because they don't require much, but the flavor is very strong.I find that if you use an excess amount it can be a bit bitter, (more than say a teaspoon as stated), but if you bake it the flavor is less strongly pronounced.Overall a great flavor that comes in a nice resealable package, though admittedly not the shortest lifespan, but given the amount of only a couple ounces, the expiration will be less of an issue.

Fresh, Clean, and Great Quality Seeds

These nigella seeds arrived fresh, whole, and well packaged, and you can immediately tell they are good quality. The seeds look clean, uniform, and durable, holding up nicely during cooking and baking without breaking down. They are definitely edible and easy to incorporate into different recipes, from breads to savory dishes and spice blends. I personally didn’t notice much flavor, which is the only reason I’m giving four stars, but they still added a nice texture and visual appeal to my meals. If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality nigella seed with a mild presence, this is a solid choice.

Fresh black cumin seeds that work great for curries

These are good quality black cumin seeds. I don't have a local store that carries them so its hard to get them for me. On their own, they are kinda like a bitter black pepper but they go really well in Indian food. I grind them up and use them as a spice for my curries or even naan bread. The price is about right for 4oz, assuming you can even find them locally which I can't anymore. They came well packaged and the resealable bag works fine to hold the leftovers if you don't grind them all at once. I have an old spice jar that I refilled after I ground these, but you can use the bag they come in. They are good quality and fresh.

Fresh

These arrived very fresh. I’m honestly confused as to what exactly these are. I’ve never had nigella seeds before, so was interested in trying something new. But this also states they are black cumin seeds. Though they do taste sort of like cumin seeds, and like black pepper, these are definitely unique to me. They say they taste best when ground. That certainly does enhance the flavor, but I would also use these whole. They can be used with a variety of foods. You’ll likely want to experiment to see how it works best for you. It comes in a resealable pouch. The product arrived very fresh. Mine does, however, expire in October, 2026, in less than one year. Which is relatively fast, as far as spices go.
