Customers praised these Aleppo pepper flakes for their mild, fruity heat with smoky, citrus undertones. "Great depth of flavor" and "bright and fresh" were common descriptions. Most appreciated the versatility on eggs, vegetables, and meats. Some noted disappointment with added salt and oil, preferring pure pepper, and a few found the heat milder than expected.

  • Great depth of flavor! The heat comes with flavor, not just heat for no reason.
  • This is SO good. It's flavor is a negligible heat with a citrusy twang.
  • Perfect spicy addition for so many different dishes. Bright and vibrant flavor.

Smoky and warm

This is a really good Aleppo pepper. It has good flavor and smokiness. It arrived fresh and in good shape. This is the 2nd Aleppo pepper I've gotten through the Vine program. The other one was from Turkish Goodies. I think I prefer the Turkish Goodies one a little better. For one thing the Turkish Goodies is just Aleppo pepper vs. this one which contains salt and oil. I'm not sure why it needs to contain those things; I'd prefer to have them separate and add them myself as needed.I have been loving these Aleppo peppers in my foods. It adds nice warmth and color to dishes. It's really very versatile; sometimes I use it in place of black pepper or red pepper flakes, and sometimes in addition.

Premium Crushed Aleppo Pepper Flakes - Great Addition and Many Uses!

Unlike standard red pepper flakes, these Aleppo Pepper Flakes deliver a beautifully balanced flavor profile - mild heat paired with subtle sweetness, fruity undertones, and a hint of smokiness. The texture is slightly flaky and soft rather than sharp and brittle, which makes it perfect for finishing dishes or blending into marinades and rubs. The organic quality really stands out. The flakes have a vibrant deep red color and a fresh, rich aroma that signals careful sourcing and processing. You can taste the difference - clean, bright flavor without bitterness. The 4-ounce package is generous and stays fresh when sealed properly. A little goes a long way, but you’ll find yourself reaching for it constantly.

Yummy!

This pepper blend is delicious. It reminds me of the peppers used to make kimchi but less spicy. Its got a great deal of flavor and just the right amount of kick. Its vibrant red color is great for making rich looking dishes that compliment the flavor. The packaging it comes in helps the seasoning stay fresh and is easy to store. Its easy to use, just sprinkle into the food.

Highly recommend this pepper

I really like aleppo pepper, it has a good amount of flavor relative to the heat. If you're just looking for maximum heat then this really isn't a pepper that you're going to like but if you're more about the flavor of peppers then this flake will suit you. It has what I would consider a low to mild heat and is more fruity than a paprika. That being said they coat these flakes in vegetable oil and mix in salt. Not the worst thing in the world but the package goes out of it's way to say that there is no fillers or additives then adds in other ingredients which isn't the most accurate advertising. I find the vegetable oil makes the flake harder to taste and appreciate as a raw ingredient so I would primarily use this product in the cooking process or as an ingredient, in say something like a hot-sauce rather than as a tajin style finisher.Overall I highly recommend aleppo pepper but wish they would find a better tasting or less obtrusive oil if the coating is necessary but I'm not an expert and have no idea whether such a thing is possible.

Mild, Fruity and Slightly Tangy Flavor!

This Aleppo Pepper is a game-changer! It boasts a complex, fruity, and mildly tangy taste with a gentle warmth, far surpassing standard crushed red pepper. It adds a lovely hint of sun-dried tomato and subtle smokiness to dishes. The Turkish Pul Biber brings a slow, savory warmth that enhances rather than overwhelms. The quality is evident in the vibrant color and texture of these Organic Halaby Chili Powder flakes, which feel authentic to their Mediterranean roots. I highly recommend it.

SO GOOD!!!

Wow!! This is my first time trying Aleppo pepper (or so I think anyhow) and it's SO good. It's flavor is a neglible heat to me, with a citrusy twang that reminds me of a Tajin/chamoy combo. If I'm being 100% honest, I could eat it straight. This tastes very fresh. This does have vegetable oil in it, so this is not a totally dry seasoning, and does have a little moistness to it.It would be awesome in drinks like margaritas or bloody Marys, or a huge variety of foods (like scrambled eggs, soo tasty).I absolutely love this pepper. It's so, so good! If you're someone looking more for flavor instead of heat, this is fantastic!

Coarse grind, mild, smokey wonderful for kebabs

Great to sprinkle over hummus, mix into yogurt sauces, or put into kebab marinades - sometimes if you are feeling lazy you can stir it into olive oil for dipping bread. It’s especially good on roasted vegetables and grilled meats that's classic for Turkish cooking. The color is a very bright red, it almost look like gochugaru level of bright red. I like the grind, I like my aleppo flakes less powdery and more hefty. The heat level is mild, it's not very spicy to me, it has a nice fresh, slightly sweet and smokey flavor. The size of the grind I like and the size of the bag is 4 oz which doesn't sound like a lot but it is in spice form, exp on the bag is marked 2028 - I believe that, the spice tasted fresh.

Smoky and bright citrus

I was expecting more heat but this is very mild. On a scale of 1 to 10, it's a 1. The flavor is smoky and complex with hints of citrus and paprika. It's good to use as a finishing spice, sprinkled raw on things like avocado toast, hard boiled eggs, or pasta dishes. The package came tightly sealed and the flakes are fresh with a deep red color. Impressive quality for the price. I am going to transfer it to a glass jar though because the bag is hard to open without tearing it.

My New Favorite Way to Heat Things Up

I'm so glad I now have truly shelf-stable Aleppo pepper right in my spice drawer. This particular product, BAZARBUL Premium Crushed Aleppo Pepper Flakes, is excellent because the flavor is so bright and vibrant. It's the perfect spicy addition for so many different dishes.I’ve used it on everything from my morning eggs to roasted potatoes and plain veggies, and it really elevates them without overpowering the natural flavor of the meal. You get a solid kick of spice, but it doesn't bring that acidic, vinegary note you often find in hot sauces. If you want mild, fruity warmth, this is definitely it.

Not spicy

My wife uses these peppers to make some chicken and rice with sweet chili sauce. She initially read that Aleppo peppers are a great substitute for chili flakes in any dish, but especially Italian dishes like pizzas and pastas. She opted to go a slightly more Asian-inspired route, and although these peppers came fresh, she was a little disappointed in the lack of heat they provided. She said they were fine, just a lot less flavorful than she had anticipated, especially on the heat front. Perhaps that is an error of misplaced expectations, but based on what she had read prior to using these, she thought they were going to be a little spicier.

Delicious sweet hot pepper, weak bag

Like a mixture between super premium crushed red pepper and sweet paprika. No woody seeds visible, vivid even red flakes. The flavor is surprisingly sweet but with real heat. No bitterness, but some of that ripe bell pepper aftertaste. I enjoyed it in a sausage sandwich and added to some soup.Only disappointment is the bag isn't very secure and tore open so it was not kept air tight for maximum freshness.

nice

this spice has a milder and slightly fruity flavor with a gentle heat. It adds a subtle kick without overpowering the other ingredients in my dishes.I’ve used it on pizza and in salads, and it blended well with the overall flavor. For my taste, it works especially well when I want a light level of spice rather than strong heat.

Pretty!

This is an awesome spice mix. The bag looks exactly as pictured. It's pretty spicy, tangy, and has a great depth of flavor! The heat comes with flavor, not just heat for no reason. It's a good sized bag and will last me along time. It tastes very bright and fresh!

Good mini pepper flakes

The flakes are a small pieces, no whole seeds, but not outright dust. The aroma is delicious pepper fruitiness and the flavor has a good balance of ripe pepper fruit and mild-moderate heat. The added salt and oil has only mild presence, doesn't overwhelm the pepper.

Great spice

I’ve been using these Aleppo pepper flakes on eggs, roasted vegetables, and chicken, and I love that they add a mild smoky heat with a fruity flavor instead of just blunt spiciness, so they work in a lot of different dishes.

Good quality pepper

This is a mild pepper, not spicy. I have never had Aleppo pepper before. I usually do not care for mild pepper and prefer spicier but this pepper is smoky with a mild zing and adds warmth to a lot of boring foods. It’s mild enough to be used ubiquitously like black pepper. I added it to mac and cheese and the flavor profile was transformed from meh to curiosity. Spicier peppers sometimes can mask the taste of food but this pepper just adds a little depth. I now add it to my scrambled eggs and other simple beginner dishes. This pepper is good quality, looks and smells fresh. It’s a vibrant red color and the aroma smells roasty, compared to lower quality pepper that looks and smells more dull. It’s also imported from Turkey.

Tasty, but not 100% pepper

I feel like when an item is marketed as a specific ingredient, particularly if the word premium is involved, it should contain only that ingredient. This is quite tasty, and smells great, and I look forward to using it in many different recipes, BUT it’s not all pepper. I find that problematic and it leads to questions about both quality and freshness. The ingredient list includes salt and oil. What kind of oil? It’s a mystery. I don’t like unknown ingredients when I’m cooking from scratch. And while this is lovely now, depending on the oil it’s been processed with, who knows how long it will stay fresh. I’m used to not having to worry about my dry spices going rancid. Maybe they go bland over time, but if it has an oil freshness becomes questionable after a while. And I find that very dissapointing. I checked a half dozen other sources of Aleppo pepper to make sure I wasn’t overreacting. That doesn’t seem to be industry standard for this pepper.

Great for chilli

I have never had crushed Aleppo pepper before and it is amazing. I used this in Chilli tk give it a little special flavor. I was hoping for something with a little spice but that could add depth and mystery. This dod not let me down. I have alos tried it on chicken with great results as well. I think Aleppo pepper has been in the corner too long, let's start a revolution.

Subtle heat...Has Salt added

Not strongly flavored which surprised me. To me, not a huge amount of flavor, a chili powder with only one kind of pepper in it. Not that it is tasteless, just saying. You get an ample bag, resealable, for the cost. It is crushed, not flakes. Also, mixture includes veg oil + salt. No preservatives, no MSG. Subtle heat comes in but not mouth burner, on the pleasant side of hot...
